Laser Skin Retexturing

How to get smoother skin?

I remember when I was in my 30’s saying I was going to grow old gracefully.  Embrace my wrinkles.  Oh, what bullshit!  Now in my 50’s, I am desperately trying to turn back time.  It is certainly a steeper climb than if I had started 15 years ago… but it is possible with the right technology!

Yes, we can always go under the knife and get that surgical facelift, and who knows, that could eventually be back on the table, but for now I will keep up with my PicoWay® Resolve Skin Retexturing treatments that keep my skin renewed, smooth and even toned.

What is the difference between Skin Resurfacing, Skin Retexturing and Skin Rejuvenation?

Skin Resurfacing: The skin’s surface is breached by an induced microscopic injury, often described as an ablative treatment. The goal is to stimulate the production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid while reducing the appearance of pigment.  Fraxel or Co2 Lasers would be examples of ablative skin resurfacing treatments. The downside is the 5-10 days of down-time.  Not everyone has the benefit of being able to hide out for a significant length of time.

Skin Retexturing: This is a less invasive, non-ablative skin treatment where the skin’s surface is left intact.  This results in reduced or zero downtime, and a decreased risk of adverse events such as hyper or hypopigmentation as well as infection.  The end results would be similar to skin resurfacing but a need for more treatments would be required.

Skin Rejuvenation: You've heard the claims “The act of restoring to a more youthful condition”.  For us at Restobod, this is an over-used word, kind of like “organic”, “vegan” and “unprecedented”.

BENEFITS OF SKIN RETEXTURING TREATMENT

Let’s talk about my go-to treatment that we offer at Restobod; Skin Retexturing treatments using the PicoWay® Resolve laser. This treatment is amazing for tone, texture, decreased pore size, fine lines, active acne, acne scarring and pigmentation including melasma.

The icing on the cake is the stimulation of collagen and elastin.  This is the long-term gain.

Since this is a skin retexturing treatment, there are less risks and you still receive all the benefits.

What results will I get from a Skin Retexturing Treatment?

Even after the first treatment you will notice that your skin is brighter, make-up goes on smoother, and you appear refreshed.  We recommend 3 treatments to start and yearly treatments for maintenance if your skin is relatively healthy.  For people with significant skin damage such as acne scarring, melasma, or notably aged skin, you will require more treatments.

Thank goodness, our Restobod Monthly Membership offsets these costs -  you can have a PicoWay® Resolve laser skin retexturing treatment zone performed monthly as your free service.  This is a $300 value with your $99 monthly membership!

Highly visible results!

Studies show that 94% of skin resurfacing clients saw improvement in treated acne scars with 3-4 treatments.

92% of skin resurfacing clients saw improvement in wrinkles at 12 weeks.

96% of skin resurfacing saw pigments reduced by at least 50% after 2 treatments.

What to expect at your Skin Retexturing Treatment?

The PicoWay® Resolve laser uses picosecond technology which is ultra-short laser light pulses. This results in all the magic happening underneath the skin’s surface leaving the outer skin layer intact and low downtime.

Each treatment takes about 15-20 minutes, during which the PicoWay® Resolve handpiece gently makes multiple passes over the skin.

No anesthetic is required for this treatment.  I like to describe the feeling as when you drag your feet through the carpet and get a zap.  It does feel hot, like a sunburn, but is more than tolerable.  That heat and redness goes away in about 45 minutes.  The benefit to this treatment is you can apply make-up immediately after if you need to.

We do recommend just a gentle cleanser and no use of acids or retinol for about 4 days post treatment.  We recommend the use of mineral based sunscreen EVERYDAY to protect your investment.
