Laser Wrinkle Removal
Wrinkle Removal Laser Treatment
Anti-wrinkle treatments, skin care, and products have come a long way in the fight against aging. Many options to reverse wrinkles as we age involve invasive and costly procedures, with varying degrees of success. At RestoBod Laser Clinics, we offer one of the most effective, affordable and painless anti-aging treatments you can invest in - laser wrinkle removal.
Most Effective Wrinkle Treatments
A regular skin care regime, sunscreen and quality skin care products can help ward off wrinkles. But laser treatments can target and reach much more than surface-level wrinkles, with more effective results. However, it’s important to know that not all lasers equally treat wrinkles effectively.
Why We Get Wrinkles
Wrinkles are lines or creases that appear on the skin's surface as a natural part of the aging process. They can be more pronounced in areas that are exposed to the sun and where facial expressions are commonly made.
Wrinkles are a common and normal part of aging, and they occur due to various factors, including:
-
Aging: As people age, the skin undergoes changes, such as a decrease in collagen production, reduced skin elasticity, and slower skin cell turnover. These changes contribute to the formation of wrinkles.
-
Repeated Facial Expressions: Facial muscles contract and relax when we make expressions such as smiling, frowning, or squinting. Over time, the repetitive movements of these muscles can create lines and wrinkles on the skin's surface.
-
Sun Exposure: Prolonged exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun damages the skin's collagen and elastin fibers. This accelerates the aging process and contributes to the development of wrinkles, particularly in areas with frequent sun exposure.
-
Smoking: Smoking leads to the production of harmful free radicals that damage collagen and elastin in the skin. As a result, smokers may develop wrinkles earlier and experience more severe wrinkling.
Types of Wrinkles:
Fine Lines: These are shallow and subtle lines that may be visible, especially when the skin is stretched or during facial expressions.
Dynamic Wrinkles: These wrinkles appear when facial muscles contract, creating lines, and disappear when the muscles relax. They are commonly seen on the forehead (horizontal lines), between the eyebrows (frown lines), and around the eyes (crow's feet).
Static Wrinkles: These wrinkles are present even when the face is at rest and become more noticeable with age. They are the result of a combination of factors, including reduced collagen and elastin, sun damage, and other environmental factors.
Deep Wrinkles: These are more pronounced and often more permanent wrinkles that may result from a combination of factors, including loss of skin volume and gravity's effects.

PicoWay Resolve Laser Wrinkle Removal
RestoBod Laser Clinics uses the patented laser beams in PicoWay Resolve technology, which are split from a central beam into 100 identical beams, or beamlets. These beamlets reach below the skin’s surface in areas that are spaced evenly apart. Because the laser is so fast and powerful, it creates a non-thermal effect, called a “photoacoustic” effect. Tiny open spaces are created under the skin that are then filled in over time with the growth of new collagen and elastin. These “LIOBs” or “Laser Induced Optical Breakdowns” are a phenomenon that can occur when using ultrafast lasers at certain settings. They involve the creation of tiny plasma channels in the skin, which can stimulate collagen production and skin rejuvenation. LIOBs are a feature commonly associated with picosecond laser systems.
How Does Laser Work to Remove Wrinkles
For wrinkle removal or skin rejuvenation, there are three laser treatments and procedures that are commonly used:
PicoWay Laser Skin Rejuvenation: The PicoWay laser literally works from the inside out. The treatment does not cause the outer layers of the skin to break, so patients enjoy low to no downtime.
Non-Ablative Laser Treatments: These laser treatments, such as the Nd:YAG laser, target the deeper layers of the skin without damaging the outer layer. They stimulate collagen production and can improve mild wrinkles, skin laxity, and overall skin appearance. Our GMax pro works well for this in our 30-minute instant lift. Great for a red carpet event. The results are immediate but shorter lived.
CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing: CO2 laser resurfacing is an ablative laser treatment that vaporizes the outer layer of skin, promoting collagen production and significant skin tightening. It is typically used for more severe wrinkles or acne scarring, and skin laxity. This treatment does have a downtime of 4-10 days depending on settings.
Does Laser Treatment Hurt?
While most patients find laser treatment to be quick and well-tolerated, you may experience a snapping sensation as the laser pulses on your skin, possibly with a mild tingling. It's worth noting that the treated area may feel warm for a short time after, similar to a sunburn, but this sensation dissipates quickly.
